Shay Millheiser
Founder
Shay brings over a decade of experience spanning construction management, interior design, and residential sales & marketing. Driven by a commitment to improving how homes are built, she champions the use of autoclaved aerated concrete (AAC) as a smarter, more resilient alternative to traditional wood framing. A dedicated student of building science, Shay continuously deepens her expertise through solution-focused construction education.
She has led the purchase, design, construction, and sale of hundreds of homes, with her work featured on HGTV, in national publications, and across major news outlets. Shay is the founder of Branch | Design & Construction Consulting, co-founder of Ampersand Property Management, and leads a top-performing sales team at Kuper Sotheby’s International Realty.
In her free time, Shay enjoys traveling, going to Austin FC games, trying new recipes, and spending time with her kids.

Jon Kaplan
Partner & Director of Construction Implementation
Jon is an International Code Council (ICC) licensed inspector and carries a National Council of Building Design Certification (NCBDC).
As the owner of Urban Build Services TX, he brings decades of expertise in residential, industrial and commercial design, construction management, and the integration of advanced building technologies and sustainable solutions. Having collaborated with Shay on dozens of residential and land projects, Jon plays a key role in refining the building science that powers Stack & Standard.
In his free time, Jon enjoys fishing, handcrafting furniture, and volunteering with C.A.S.T. for Kids to help create memorable outdoor experiences for children with special needs.

Jose Zarco
Construction Manager
Originally from Mexico, Jose brings over 15 years of international construction experience to our team, with expertise in complex concrete work, foundations, framing, HVAC design, and construction management.
He holds a degree in mechatronics—a multidisciplinary field that combines mechanical engineering and electronics—bringing a high level of technical precision to every project.
Jose has also led construction efforts for numerous nonprofit organizations, including Habitat for Humanity, Easter Seals, and Meals on Wheels.
When not working, he enjoys paramotor gliding, fishing, and spending time with his son.
